SOCIAL, HUMANITARIAN AND CULTURAL COMMITTEE (SOCHUM)
Social,Humanitarian & Cultural Committee (SOCHUM),founded in 1948, is one of the six main committees of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).SOCHUM’s main aim is to protest human rights all around the world. SOCHUM has cooperative work with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and United Nations Human Rights Committee (UNHRC).
SOCHUM deal with the issues regarding to human rights and social affairs alongside looking at reports of the boards and panels of the related committees. The advancement of women, the treatment of refugees,the protection of children, displaced populations ,protection of fundamental freedoms through racism also can be considered as the issues that SOCHUM addresses.In addition,SOCHUM mainly focuses on social issues as youth,drug control,family,crime prevention and justice.
The member states have the responsibility to find solutions that will shape the world and social issues.
